The boccia in Hungary

In 1983 the Sports Encyclopaedia closes the description of boccia like this: "...this game is not played in Hungary." For the first time the Hungarian players took part in an international competition during the European Championship in Warsaw in 1990. In a short time several hard cinders fields were made in Budapest and the former world champion, Antonio Riva, led some trainings for the Hungarians. In 1992 the Hungarian Boccia Federation had the possibility to organize the European Championship on a temporary field in the Olympic Hall of Budapest.
